The 5 Day Nervous System Reset
Day 2: Ground
A free somatic experience for your nervous system. Your body learning what safety actually feels like.
Today we're bringing attention to your feet, your body, and the places where something solid is holding you up. It's a simple practice, and one you can take with you into meetings, family get togethers, and hard conversations.
Find a spot where you can sit for a few minutes. Your eyes can stay open. Go at your own pace, and skip anything that doesn't feel right.
Journal prompt:
What did it feel like to feel held - both physically and emotionally? Is there anywhere in life you currently feel held? What about an area where you feel like you’re holding it all together?
After you listen
Notice how your body feels now compared to five minutes ago. More settled, heavier, restless, or not much different at all are all normal responses. Your nervous system is learning something new, and that takes repetition, not perfection.
Try it on the go
Anytime today you notice yourself tensing up, press your feet into the floor for a few seconds and feel the ground press back. That's it. Small moments add up.
